It is only Tuesday and so far it has been chaotic for me. Since I won the portfolio campaign competition it basically makes me the Art/Creative Director of this entire show now. I didn’t realize how chaotic this thing would be as I ran around helping people and answering questions. Questions left and right, editing things, and printing stuff out. One thing is that I’m glad I have a team around me to help with the heavy workload for production. They have been helping me do all sorts of things, such as printing, cutting, helping others, and etc. I can see why places usually have a graphics team instead of offloading all their work onto one person. I’m glad I have them.
Another thing I learned is how to duplicate things on a file in InDesign, and make them move over by a certain amount by x and y. I learned this from Tony and it’s a game changer for printing. My team had to work and find out the precise cut lines for posters and invites to create clean lines. That was difficult, but we managed to do so. Being the Director has been a great learning experience for me, as it shows the workload of what it’s like to be in the industry.
