  • ❄️ Realization

I am thankful for the first year program at Southeast Tech. As it allowed me to dabble in many things, like a sampler pack.

I got to dabble in graphic design, video editing/making, coding, etc. It allowed me to get a sense of the field and then my second year dove deeper, rather than doing a sampler. I enjoyed dabbling in all of the sides of this degree. Cause it allowed me to acquire skill points in each of the types of production. Which I believe is a good thing, as you’re in a competitive field. A jack of all trades, is much better than a person who pigeon holed themselves into a single thing.

  • ❄️ 2025

It’s probably the millionth post I have made about time. But time does pass by so fast, when you’re a kid. You want to grow up so fast, you felt like there’s a bunch of time between now and adulthood. You perceive time differently. Waiting for summer break felt like forever.

But now you’re an adult, you felt like you just graduated from High School yesterday. In reality it was almost 2 years now.

That’s what it feels like as I enter my last semester of Southeast Tech. The hardest semester apparently, and I know it’ll feel like a breeze. I’ll be graduating soon and be out there in the Graphic Design field somewhere. Don’t know where, but I’ll know I’ll make it. It’s funny honestly, you spent all this time with your classmates. Once you step out with your diploma, you might never see any of them again. But that’s life and you move forward.

  • ❄️ Myself

I been working in different mediums recently, for my personal art skills. Not my graphic design skills. On Christmas I decided to work on animating using my ipad which I received for my birthday. I love it cause the screen is much larger than my old one. But animating brings back memories from my animation class with Patrick. As I forgot how time consuming it is to animate just a few seconds of animation.

Another thing I went back to doing is Art! Specifically digital art. It has been a while since I have done it because I been so busy with life. But drawing again really gave me the creative juices!

  • ❄️ Etsy Shop

Today I started my Etsy Shop. Well more like I got the components ready to do so. I spent a bit creating a logo for myself in Illustrator. Went through many ideas but found one that was simple but recognizable.

After that I used Canva to create my first product for my shop. I use Canva due to the ease of it, cause you can link it back for the customers who purchase your design so they can use it as a template. Plus they can edit it, compared to illustrator which not everybody has access to.

I hope the venture goes well, as it allows me to make money off of designs I make.

  • ❄️ My Birthday

I decided a while back I will be creating an album for my birthday. Like a music album where I create all the component and pretend I’m a musical artist. I think it would be a fun tradition each year. It’ll reflect my music choices and my style choices over the year. Plus it’ll keep me in the programs.

Firstly I got to do photoshoots and work on those images, and create an album cover before working on the inner content. There’s so many components to it and I’m excited.

  • ❄️ Winter Break

( Note: All Blog Posts made over Winter Break will be indicated with a snowflake . )

We have started off Winter Break! Finally a break from everything, which is nice honestly as it allows for a breather for people. I personally am using Winter Break to start on a side hustle. An Etsy Shop that sells templates. I heard it makes good money cause you design once and put your design up, and you passively gain income! It’s a good idea for me because it allows me to work with my design skills while potentially gaining money!

  • 3rd Semester Wrap Up

That’s it. That’s the end of the 3rd semester here at Southeast Tech. It felt like yesterday, when it was my first day ever here. I was so nervous but now I’m confident and ready. Time flies by fast, and I know as I get older it’ll feel even faster.

That reminds me though, I am constantly evolving with my skills in this field. I’m getting better every single day. Proof of that was me going through and setting up my magazine. I was placing all the pages into the final layout, and it wad basically a timeline of an evolution of my designs. It shows I made progress because we first started off with making ADs. Looking back on those ADs, they’re okay looking. I could’ve designed them better if I did them now. But that just shows I gotten better.

Which should be the message of life.

  • An Update on Coding

So we been working on the Chef Jacqueline website for a while now, I recently finished the homepage for the website. Which made every other page building quite easy. As the home page acts like a template for the other pages, which I can substitute elements into it to fit the needs. Such as removing the carousel image from the home page and replacing it with body text to fit the about page.

This has made coding rather fun. I kinda want to do more coding now to see what I can do with just Dreamweaver. It would look great in my portfolio and allow more creative control over it.

  • My Style

As we’re closing in towards the 4th and final semester of my 2 years at Southeast Tech. I have wondered. What is my Graphic Design Style? I been following these guidelines set up by my instructors but I never asked myself what’s my style? I did some looking around on Pinterest for inspiration.

These designs I pulled from there are the vibes I like for my style of Graphic Design. It combines more of the art aspect into the design which I love. I want to design stuff like this one day, perhaps it’ll be the style of my personal brand?

  • Coding

When I first started coding last year, it was a confusing mess that I could not understand for the life of me. I wanted to give up, but I continue to learn more about coding as it seems fun.

We built our websites for the first time and I was proud by the end results. Now we’re still coding and I’m having fun coding now. It’s the way you build up this website from nothing, and you get to see the final results and feel so proud. I refuse to let coding be a weakness of mine, I want it to be one of my strengths.
