Wednesday, we are going to edit as a group my portfolio campaign, meaning I cast my macbook onto the big screen, and I’m guessing we’ll talk about my design as I live edit. I’m a little nervous but isn’t that life? You cannot always be prepared for everything. Sometimes you got to jump into the unknown.
I personally think a lot of people would benefit from criticism. Without it you’re designing within an echo chamber. I’m going to be honest, I seen some designs in my class that feel like they were designed within an echo chamber. They just compliment each other, instead of actually criticizing.
I adopted this method I learned in my College English Class. It’s called the sandwich method of giving criticism. You put the criticism between two pieces of compliments. It’s a way to slip it in without them getting defensive. Some designers take it personally and this method is a great way to soften the blow.
